Series I. 35 mm Negative Strips
Scope and Content
This collection contains positives and negatives that were taken by St. Martin from various sources. The Steve St. Martin Photographic Collection is housed in ?? boxes totaling ?? linear ft.
The collection arrived in good condition in multiple accessions. The curator identified five series with the first series being the 35mm Negative Strips Series, which is organized alphabetically by country with the pages numbered alphanumerically starting with the letter of the country followed by three digits beginning with 001 through the highest number of pages for a given country with numbers starting over for each country. Each page holds up to seven film strips. The strips are numbered with the page number and a dash number from 1 to 7. The Miscellaneous Series is the one exception to the alphabetical arrangement. It has been placed in the Canadian series album.
Preceding each image page is a page that identifies the individual images. The larger part of the images are identified and include individual pilots, ground crew, group shots, aircraft (including tail numbers in some cases), and unit designations. Most images are not dated.
The curator left the first series’ original organization intact as this was the first part of the collection that was fully processed with arrangement and description prior to the arrival of the following accessions.
