Biographical Sketch
Everett Logan Goar was born in Indiana in 1918. After pursuing a career in medicine, Goar served with the United States Army Medical Corps, reaching the rank of Major. After leaving military service, he studied Ophthalmology, achieving a degree from Colorado University in 1925. Goar opened an Ophthalmology practice in Texas, and then joined the faculty at Baylor University. He served as head of the Ophthalmology program from 1943-1954, and as a professor emeritus until his retirement from Baylor in 1971. Goar also remained a practicing ophthalmologist until his retirement from medicine in February of 1971. He passed away in November of that year at the age of 84.

Series Description
This collection contains a scrapbook of photographs, articles, notes, and information collected by W. E. Sutton and given to Everett Logan Goar. It also houses a framed a painting depicting the mid-air breakup of the airship USS Shenandoah.

The E. Logan Goar Collection was donated to the History of Aviation Archives, Special Collections and Archives Division, Eugene McDermott Library, The University of Texas at Dallas, by Everett Logan Goar on 1982-07-15.
