This collection contains documents, reports, newsletters, and other material related to the use of B-52 aircraft for bombing campaigns in the Vietnam War, as well as Anderson AFB, a United States Air Force facility on Guam.

Biographical Sketch
Lothar Thomas "Nick" Maier was born in Buffalo, New York in 1932. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and flew B-47 and B-52 bombers, as well as the SR-71 reconnaissance aircraft. He was a Command Pilot of B-52's for both ARC Light and the Linebacker II bombing operation during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of Major in 1977. He worked in the travel industry after his military career, and for many years served as a volunteer at the History of Aviation Archives. He passed away in 2011.

Series Description
The collection arrived in good condition and was initially processed with only a container list as description. Due to a change of the content management system, further description proved to be necessary.
Provenance Statement
The Nick Maier Papers were donated to the History of Aviation Archives, Special Collections and Archives Division, Eugene McDermott Library, The University of Texas at Dallas, by Nick Maier in mulitple accessions form 1981 through 2010.
