Biographical Sketch

During World War II, John H. Luckadoo served as a B-17 pilot and co-pilot of an aircraft in the 351st Squadron, 100th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force. He completed his twenty-five mission tour of duty with the 350th Squadron, and returned to the United States to enter the 3rd Army Air Force Training Command. He was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross (USAF), Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters (USAF), Presidential Unit Citation (USAF), and the Victory Medal (USAF). Upon leaving the Air Force, he developed commercial real estate in Dallas, and continues to serve as a volunteer with the History of Aviation Archives.

Series Description

The collection arrived in good condition and was initially processed with only a container list as description. Due to a change of the content management system, further description proved to be necessary.

The John Luckadoo Collection was donated to the History of Aviation Archives, Special Collections and Archives Division, Eugene McDermott Library, The University of Texas at Dallas, by John Luckadoo on 1995-01-10.
