James N. Glerum Papers

Identifier: CA082-00

Scope and Content

This collection contains memoranda, speeches, and oral history interviews that were collected by James N. Glerum during his tenure with CAT and Air America. The James N. Glerum Papers are housed in one half-size manuscript box, totalling 0.2 linear ft.

The collection arrived in good condition in multiple accession. Originally, each accession was processed with its own collection number in the Civil Air Transport (CAT) and Air America Small Collections, Civil Air Transport (CAT) and Air America Association Collection, and CIA Corporate Records. After further donation paperwork was discovered, all three accessions were consolidated, with an update of the accession/collection number and reprocessed with a new arrangement and its own finding aid.

The processing archivist identified three series with the first series being the Civil Air Transport (CAT), Inc. Series containing two memornada about CAT's proposal to assist the French in Indochina.

The second series is the Air America Series including one speech given to the membership of Air America Association by Rodney Smith regarding the history of CAT and Air America, the current associations, the memorial at the CIA Headquarters, the fight against communism, and the spirit of their members; the second speech was given by James N. Glerum about the history of CAT and Air America and the various places of operation in South East Asia.

The third series is the Media Series containing oral history interviews conducted by Perpetual Motion Films (Monte Markham) with James N. Glerum.
