Scope and Content
This collection contains photographs, negatives, brochures, advertisements, press kits, and some manufacturer’s records. The range spans from aircraft built in the United States, Europe, and Asia and cover both military and civilian airplanes. The Aircraft Manufacturer's Collection is housed in seventy-two boxes of various size totaling 72.8 linear ft.

The archivist kept the original organization intact without any further arrangement.
The Aircraft Manufacturer's Collection is organized alphabetically by manufacturer's name.
Provenance Statement
The Aircraft Manufacturer's Collection is an artificial collection composed of materials that were pulled from various collections and orphan collections. Most materials removed from the collections has notations stating from which collection they were removed.

Images archived in plastic image holders may also have a location code in the format: 1/TL. In this example, the number is the sheet number and the letters indicate the top left position on the sheet. Position indicators are T = top, L = left, R = right, M = middle, and B = bottom. Photographs are either housed on polypropylene sleeves or are interleaved with acid-free paper.
