Al Backstrom Papers
The material arrived in good condition and was arranged by the processing archivst accordinn to the donor's original order. The archivist identified four series within the papers:
Series I. Gliders and Sailplanes
This series contains doucments, plans, articles, correspondence discussing Al Backstrom's work on the design of both full size and scale model sailplanes and gliders, as well as aspects of the operation, construction, and sail of unpowered aircaft.
Series II. Engines and Motors
This series includes product brochures and reviews, instruction manuals, and service and overhaul guides for a number of types of aircraft engiens and motors.
