This collection contains a copy of a typed transcript of an interview with Nelle Johnston. It wasconducted by Alan Mason on August 28, 1980 for an oral history project for East Texas State University (became Texas A and M University-Commerce in 1996) and the Dallas Public Library.

Historical Sketch

Nelle Johnston was a long-time executive secretary for J. Erik Jonsson, a former Mayor of Dallas and and co-founder of Texas Instruments and The Graduate Research Center of the Southwest. She was also president of the Callier Center for Communication Disorders from 1965 until its transfer to the University of Texas at Dallas in 1975.
