The personal papers include original typescript (edited) and handwritten transcripts from oral history tapes of Campbell’s life history in aviation.
Clara Studer launched a campaign for a commemorative stamp in honor of Amelia Earhart. By soliciting the help of other pioneer women pilots such as Fay Gillis Wells and Louise McPhetridge Thaden, Ms. Studer and friends contacted congressmen as well as senators. These women gradually gained the support of newspapers throughout the country. On July 24, 1964, in Atchinson, Kansas, the stamp was officially issued.
William G. Fuller was the first manager of Meacham Field in Fort Worth, TX. He was appointed to the post in 1927 and remained active in North Texas aviation throughout his life, from being Vice President of Globe Aircraft Company, to the Director of Aviation of Fort Worth and later Grand Prairie. The collection contains archival material collected by him, including personal and business papers and other materials accrued throughout his career in civil and military aviation.

Byron Good enlisted in the Army during World War I. He first worked as a mechanic and later learned how to fly. He was the co-owner of the first plane chartering company, Good and Foster, in Dallas, Texas, in 1920. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft Company for six years before retiring.
Al Harting was a reporter with the Dallas Dispatch newspaper and D Magazine. He covered local crime, business, politics, and aviation for the North Texas region.
Frank M. Hawks was a World War I aviator, barnstormer, and speed record pilot in the 1920s and 1930s. He was sponsored by the Texaco Corporation and promoted their fuel services across the country. He also starred in a 1937 motion picture serial titled The Mysterious Pilot. He was killed while testing an experimental aircraft in 1938.
The David Hickler Papers concentrate on his career as an employee of Civil Air Transport (CAT) and Air America from 1946 to 1975. Also documented are his extensive legal proceedings to obtain U.S. Government retirement benefits claiming he was employed by the CIA, a governmental agency. There are also documents that cover his employment at Hughes Helicopters and his personal life.
Al Mooney is famous for his aeronautical designs of the Mooney Mite and other aircraft he manufactured in his Mooney Aircraft Corporation at Kerrville, Texas. The collection contains archival material collected by him, both personal papers and materials assembled during his career in the fields of civil and military aviation.
Bob Sexton became interested in flight around the time of his attendance at Baylor University. During the 1930s, Sexton became involved in aviation and remained engaged with it until a stroke in the 1970s took him away from active flying. He was a trainer and examiner with the Civil Aeronautics Adminstration (CAA). His students included men who would join the military during world War II, and civilians after that conflict.
Welman A. Shrader was both an aviation journalist, an aviation photographer, and a pilot. He was the Director of Publications for the Institute of Aeronautical Sciences, the predecessor of The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, (AIAA). Shrader wrote several books and/or provided images from his private collection.
Frank Edward Stergar was employed by Air America, Inc. from March 4, 1970 to June 30, 1975 when he separated from the company. This collection contains a photograph of the USS Duluth, correspondence, a map of Laos, and Air Facilities Data.
Dale Ross Stith’s military experience was with the Air Force Reserve Command (USAFR) and the Texas Air National Guard (TexANG), and with the United States Marine Corps. He worked for the Lockheed Missiles and Space Company at Soc Trang Army Airfield in the Republic of Vietnam with secret Department of Defense (DOD) orders for the QT-2PC, Prize Crew Operational Evaluation, and the YO-3A. His responsibilities comprised the QT-2PC’s aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
