The Gorrell History of the American Expeditionary Forces Air Service, 1917-1918 was compiled by Colonel Edgar S. Gorrell, Assistant Chief of Staff of The United States Army Air Service. It was intended as an in-depth analysis of the performance and operations of American military aviation in World War I, as well as offer lessons for future planning to the United States Army General Staff.
