Clara Adams Papers
Adams was associated with many aeronautical figures of international distinction, mainly early women aviators. Her personal friendship with Dr. Hugo Eckener of Germany as well as passage on experimental and inaugural Zeppelin flights, such as the Graf Zeppelin and Hindenburg, led to her becoming a proponent of lighter-than-air travel.

Amelia Earhart Commemorative Stamp Campaign Collection
Clara Studer launched a campaign for a commemorative stamp in honor of Amelia Earhart. By soliciting the help of other pioneer women pilots such as Fay Gillis Wells and Louise McPhetridge Thaden, Ms. Studer and friends contacted congressmen as well as senators. These women gradually gained the support of newspapers throughout the country. On July 24, 1964, in Atchinson, Kansas, the stamp was officially issued.

C. V. Glines, Jr. Papers
C. V. Glines, Jr. was an internationally renowned aviation authority and historian, and author of thirty-six books and over eight hundred periodical articles. The hallmarks of his writings are his personal experiences in the field of aviation and his personal acquaintance with the subjects or those close to the subjects of his writings, all interwoven with extensive research. An "Honorary Doolittle Raider," Glines was the official historian for the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders.
Al K. Hall, Jr. Collection
Al K. Hall, Jr. was a vaudeville entertainer, pilot for the Air Transport Command during World War II, and a long time pilot and instructor with American Airlines. This collection contains artifacts, pictures, documents, and scrapbooks chronicling his many varied careers.
Frank M. Hawks Collection
Frank M. Hawks was a World War I aviator, barnstormer, and speed record pilot in the 1920s and 1930s. He was sponsored by the Texaco Corporation and promoted their fuel services across the country. He also starred in a 1937 motion picture serial titled The Mysterious Pilot. He was killed while testing an experimental aircraft in 1938.

Erik Hildesheim was born in 1896 in Denmark. He was a pilot and also oversaw several different aircraft manufacturing factories. He was a collector of photography and memorabilia related to aviation history, especially World War I aviation and air mail.

Maurice M. Kay, Sr. Collection
J. H. (Stormy) Mangham Collection
James Harold "Stormy" Mangham was a pioneer aviator and barnstormer born in 1907. In 1932, he purchased land in North Richland Hills, Texas to serve as a home, ranch, and private airfield. In 1954, he opened his private airfield to public use as Mangham Airport, which closed in 1986. Mangham, in addition to being a pilot, was also involved in setting motorcycle speed records. He passed away in 1974.

Earl L. Smith Collection
Earl Smith was a pilot, mechanic, and Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) investigator who flew the first transcontinental rail-air trip. The collection contains photographs of documents, pictures, and related materials. These photographs are from his scrapbook, where he collected content about his career in aviation and about his personal life.
Charles R. Tennstedt Collection
Charles Russell Tennstedt was a barnstormer and airline pilot working for Eastern Air Lines. He flew numerous airplanes and jet transport planes throughout his career.
Burrell Tibbs Papers
Burrell Tibbs is well known for his contributions to the early aviation period in the United States. Having been an apprentice to Benoist and working with Lester Miller on building an airplane, Tibbs was also a barnstormer and a pilot instructor in Oklahoma before and during World War II. He worked at the Boeing plant in Wichita, Kansas and celebrated the 50th anniversary of powered flight by flying a World War I Jenny from Bloomington, Illinois to Grand Prairie, Texas in seven days.
H. Hugh Wynne Collection
H. Hugh Wynne collected about 22,500 ft. of rare and unique World War I 16mm movie films over a period of fifty years.
