Abstract Everett Logan Goar was born in Indiana in 1918. After pursuing a career in medicine, Goar served with the United States Army Medical Corps, reaching the rank of Major. After leaving military service, he studied Ophthalmology, achieving a degree from Colorado University in 1925. Goar opened an Ophthalmology practice in Texas, and then joined the faculty at Baylor University.
