Joseph A. Lopes was a pilot with Air America in the 1970’s. In addition to his job as a pilot, Lopes became an active member of the Far East Pilots Association (FEPA). FEPA was a union formed by the pilots of Air America to represent their interests. In 1974, negotiations between Air America and FEPA broke down resulting in a strike by the Air America Pilots.
